The name Abbott is synonymous with real estate along Florida's Emerald Coast. The Abbott's have been making real estate their business since 1950 starting with the original Abbott Realtor, William W. Abbott Sr. In 1970, he became a broker and began selling condominiums at El Matador, one of the first condominiums built in northwest Florida. The Abbott's were involved with the most premier properties along the Emerald Coast. At the time, El Matador, on Okaloosa Island, was the only building with an elevator within two counties.
Steve and Bill Abbott followed in their father's footsteps and founded Abbott Realty in 1977 with a $3,000 investment. Combined with an unsurpassed work ethic, this small monetary investment created a multimillion-dollar-a-year company, employing more than 500 people and becoming the largest employer in NW Florida since the mid 80s.
Nathan, Erin, and Amanda Abbott keep the business in the family by becoming the second generation of Abbott Realtors. Although times have definitely changed since the inception of the business in the 70s, its founding principles have remained the same . . . customer service, knowledge, hard work and dedication.
History of Nathan Abbott Team: Nathan was born and raised in NW Florida, graduated from Florida State University and received his license in 2001. He was awarded "Rookie of the Year" his first year in real estate for excellence in sales and customer service. Erin received her license in 2003 and as a husband and wife team, they have tripled their sales production. Nathan and Erin successfully launched and closed two preconstruction developments, Azure & Palazzo and the knowledge they learned is invaluable. They are Certified Distressed Property Experts and Investment Agent Specialists. In 2011, Nathan and Erin became licensed real estate brokers and developed the Nathan Abbott Team, specializing in every fasset of the the real estate industry. Together they STRIVE to have great customer Service, Team Work, Relationships, Integrity, Vision, Excellence.
The Nathan Abbott Team continues to be top producers of NW Florida. In 2011, they added four new members to their real estate team, Frank Meader - Closing Coordinator, Amanda Abbott - Marketing Director, Daniel Walker - Buyer Specialist for PCB and 30A, Jeanne Mahoney - Lead Specialist. The Nathan Abbott Team continues to grow in 2012 adding Brett Bianca - Buyer Specialist for FWB and Destin and Roxxy Cole - Listing Coordinator.

Abbott Realty launched the first major real estate company in Destin in the early 70's and was the largest employer of Northwest Florida. One of my greatest accomplishments was graduating from the University of West Florida with honors while working to put myself through school. I completed my BA in one and a half years and graduated magna cum laude. I tackled my master’s degree on-line so I did not have to compete with a work schedule. On-line learning requires a lot of personal discipline, but I toughed it out and graduated on time in two years. I was awarded the prestigious Outstanding Student Achievement Award for my academic excellence.
After graduation, like Nathan, I took some time to see the world. I traveled to the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Canada and various places within the United States. One of my favorite trips was to Whistler, Canada. As a Florida girl, snow was a completely new experience. I tried snowboarding for the first time and really enjoyed it. Although each place had something to offer, and there were more opportunities for jobs in my specific field afar, I would have to agree with Nathan that there is no place like home. I chose to apply my skills to real estate and have been quite successful doing so. The beauty of the area never ceases to amaze me and I do not take for granted the place I call home.

My family has always been involved in real estate and it was not until recently that I realized that my career path would bring me back here. I have always had an adventurous spirit and after graduating from Florida State University I made a move to Chicago, IL to experience life in the city. I lived in Chicago for 5 years and worked in the fashion industry then moved to New York City for the following 4 years to progress in my career. I worked at an apparel showroom and handled sales for contemporary designers along the East Coast and Internationally. Manhattan was my home base but I was able to travel along the East Coast to work with buyers of specialty boutiques and department stores. I managed nearly 200 accounts across 27 states and soon realized that sales were a specialty of my own.
In 2011, during the fashion industry’s slow season, I came back to sunny Florida for a few of the summer months to recharge. I fell in love with the area again and truly appreciated the beauty that surrounded me. My previous work experience taught me how to be aggressive, build relationships, maintain integrity, and work hard. I can now apply my skills to real estate sales. From 2011 to 2012, I was the listing coordinator and marketing director for the Nathan Abbott Team. In 2013, I shifted to a seller specialist, which allows me to focus on call volume with our existing sellers as well as generate new business for the team. He understands everyone’s needs are different and tries to see things from the other person’s perspective, always trying to focus on the solution, not the obstacle, to get the deal done.
Frank and his wife of 20+ years moved to the area in 1995 and have really come to appreciate all that Northwest Florida area has to offer. Growing up in a military family and serving his own time in the US Navy, Frank has traveled extensively, living in places such as Hunstville, Atlanta, Boston, Honolulu, Los Angeles, and a few others in-between. After being in the Florida Panhandle he says, “I am always amazed at how much the area offers and am always finding something new." What is my favorite thing about this area? It has to be that no matter where you go or what you’re doing, for how big this area is, there is still somewhat of a small town feel. It’s the kind of place where you can strike up a conversation with just about anybody, and people wave as you drive down the street.”

I am a mom of three to the most awesome boys in the world-Owen, Noahh, & Eyin. I remember my very 1st visit to Destin when I was just 11 years old. We stayed at Tops’l Beach & Racquet Resort, which was at that time was an Abbott Resorts property. After that initial first visit, Destin always stayed in my heart and on my mind and I continued the trend once I was older and had children of my own. This became my family vacation spot with my boys. I remember saying back then that I wanted to retire and move to Destin, FL. I would’ve never thought that so few years later I not only would move to this little piece of Heaven on Earth, but would also join the Nathan Abbott Team and become the new listing coordinator and facilitate the marketing.
My background in marketing is extensive, as I worked in casino marketing for the Grand Casino in Gulfport for over 10 years. I also held an active real estate license for the state of Mississippi working with Coldwell Banker Alfonso Realty. After moving to this area in 2005, I continued my niche in real estate, but from a different side of the spectrum, such as development and construction, property management, and HOA management. I have truly been blessed to gain the education, knowledge, and experience needed to become the type of businessperson needed in today’s work force.
